About Ben Anderson

I'm a marketer based in Logan, Utah. I help Cache Valley small to mid-size businesses do the kind of marketing that gets repeat purchases. And I love it!

Where I started

Officially the worst marketer in my class.

The professor called me out by name. I made dozens of website drafts that never felt or looked right, wasted money on ads that never brought in a single new customer, and ran "special discounts" that not one person redeemed. I tried learning from the internet and books, but I couldn't figure out why none of their ideas worked for me.

The turning point

An old, white-haired marketer and 30 minutes.

He sat down with me for half an hour and walked me through my own brand messaging. He opened my eyes — I felt like I finally understood everything. The mysteries of the universe were mine! I went home, turned off the ads, redesigned the (best ever) website in two days, and started emailing past customers.

What I learned

And the business still grew.

Turns out ads weren't the most important factor to get more business. The customers still came just as fast as before.

Since then

$400,000 in revenue growth and a lot of churros.

I've been marketing manager for some of the fastest-growing companies in Utah — San Diablo Churros and JBC Threadworks — influencing $400,000 in revenue growth. I helped San Diablo Churros expand grocery distribution from 60 to 1,800 stores in 6 months. Along the way I've learned from mentors, my own mistakes, and 100+ marketing books. (If you know me, you know I'm proud of my library.)

Why I do this

So you don't have to make my mistakes.

My favorite thing now is helping business owners stop wasting money on ads that don't work. People are willing to spend — you just have to give them a reason to come back. I can help you grow with email marketing, website design, and brand strategy. But for our first project together…

What I believe
"Good marketing should make money. The easiest dollars to make with marketing come from your existing customers. That's why I believe in retention marketing."
